To foster sustainability and reduce our environmental footprint, macabalm first reevaluated our ingredient-sourcing practices as we demanded only natural and organic practices within sustainable farming methods. Ethical sourcing not only protects biodiversity but also ensures that local communities benefit from these practices, promoting social sustainability.

Our commitment towards a clean and green formulation involved using only natural, non-toxic, and organic ingredients. By removing harmful chemicals and common cosmetic ‘nasties’ such as parabens, artificial fragrances, sulphates and petroleum derivatives, we have been able to create a product that is safe for both our consumers and the environment. Our certifications for being organic, cruelty-free, vegan and pesticide-free hold great meaning and are each something we have worked hard to gain and maintain.

Packaging was one of our biggest considerations as we worked towards circular solutions - making sure that our packaging was made from materials that cause no harm. All macabalm tubes are made from 100% recycled sugarcane. Not only is it less resource intensive than regular virgin plastic, but it is also carbon-reducing because as sugarcane grows, it removes carbon from the atmosphere. Our macabalm boxes are made from 100% recycled paper, preventing deforestation and habitat loss to Australian wildlife.
